LIBRARY -
We were given a random library book number and read the book that corresponded to that number within Bristol Central Library.

After a number of day tasks, we were asked to respond to our book. The book I got was called ‘The UK Economy Today’. My response was that the title of the book made it immediately out of date when published, let alone 20 years later when I picked it up at the library.

I created this newspaper to show some of the biggest differences from the book to the present day.

Response to the brief where we were sent to an area of Bristol, told to sit for 5 hours and record and observe everything.

From the sketchbook of the day’s work, my pen line drawings were the ones that stood out to me so I used these as the main element of my video, including hand rendered type and sounds captured on the day.

Radio Response. We were given a radio station to listen to for 2 weeks. I was given BBC’s Woman’s Hour. I really enjoyed listening to the show, and found it really positive and empowering to hear modern day feminism at it’s best. It completely changed my view of feminism/feminists and my response to this was to cross stitch this, very true, statement.

I chose a really simple, clear font as my logo/logotype and all using recycled paper.

Picture Sound brief.

We were briefed to swap our 60 second sound pieces with a partner and create a 30 second low-fi, experimental video response.
